Description of Research
I am working on an opportunistic pathogen known as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which causes chronic infection in immune-compromised patients. One way this is done is by utilizing heme as an iron source, therefore my research involves characterizing the mechanism and regulation of the heme uptake pathways within Pseudomonas.
