Description of Research
My research analyzes the relation between resilience and quality of life among individuals with a criminal record and will determine whether that relation differs depending on the amount of discrimination individuals experience. This research aims to inform changes to discriminatory policies that negatively impact individuals with a criminal record. Another research project that I am working on headed by my mentor Dr. Hunter, involves conducting qualitative interviews with college students who have a parent(s) who have been incarcerated and/or have had issues with substance use. The purpose is to gain an in–depth understanding about student experiences and the impact of parental incarceration and substance use on students and the general family unit.
