Description of Research
Consequences associated with the U.S. opioid epidemic include increasing economic costs in the billions, overdose deaths, and neonates exposed to perinatal opioids during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Clinical studies suggests perinatal opioid exposure is associated with increased risk of developing sensory deficits. In the Keller lab, I am investigating the consequences associated with perinatal opioid exposure on sensory circuits and behavior.
