Description of Research

As a second year research assistant, I am currently working on an evaluation of the Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) Program. The purpose of the program is to encourage and empower underrepresented minority undergraduates in the sciences to pursue Ph.D.s. A vital part of the program is the mentoring component. MARC trainees are paired with a research mentor when they enter the program and work closely with this individual. Plans to investigate the mentoring relationship and its’ effect on minority undergraduate academic outcomes are in the future.
