How to use the UMBC Together myUMBC Group

UMBC Together Focal Areas

UMBC Together is currently composed of four focal areas.

Our current focal areas include:

  • Care & Support Resources

  • Social Connections

  • Storytelling

  • Well-Being & Development

Each area has been developed in order to stay connected, strengthen our community, and address questions and/or concerns during our virtual transition. Items will be added and updated regularly under the “Files” tab. To ensure you find whatever you need quickly, we have included a brief description of what is included within each focal area.

Care & Support Resources

We understand that UMBC community members may experience new challenges as we navigate and process the COVID-19 pandemic. Within this section you will find resources, contacts, and services for our UMBC community members. These areas focus on safety resources, emergency services, reporting, financial support resources, food insecurity resources, and diversity, equity and inclusion education and resources.

Social Connections

Visit the events tab to find opportunities to connect with the wider UMBC community such as casual free-hour gatherings, fun social and other types of events. Join the conversation on social media by using #UMBCtogether on twitter, instagram or YouTube.

Within this area you will find opportunities to get engaged with our wider UMBC community by sharing stories of resilience. This area will share communications, articles and blogs that highlight the experiences, research, initiatives, and/or local community impact of various UMBC students, staff, faculty, alumni, and offices.

Well-Being & Development

Within this area you will find resources that provide structured development and training opportunities, resources and web-based events that promote self-care, health, and wellness, as well as various community-based support groups.

How to Stay Connected and Up to Date!

We encourage community members to stay engaged and submit resources, initiatives, and/or programs that are connected to any of our focal areas. Please note that these areas are subject to change as this page continues to grow. We also invite you to provide feedback and any updates to best serve our campus community.
